Are you facing some difficult challenges in your life right now? If not, at some point you will. I understand. I’m overcoming challenges every day. Life seems to be full of challenges, one after another, and we all have them in varying degrees. Accepting these challenges will bring strength and peace.
Hearing people’s stories of how they accept and overcome challenges can teach and inspire you as you face your own challenges. Our family faces, and overcomes challenges every day because my son and daughter have two rare syndromes, a lung disease, and autism, and I have MS.
You could say we are experts in accepting and overcoming challenges. We give talks in which we share our personal stories and the tools we use to overcome life’s difficulties. Below you’ll find three videos, one for each of us, giving one such talk.
Gain Strength through Accepting Your Challenges
Acceptance doesn’t mean giving up. Acceptance is the act of facing your challenges and deciding which ones can’t be changed so you can let them go and then focusing on only the challenges you can do something to change. ~Debbie Jorde
When you let go of the problems you can’t change, you feel peace. You no longer have to worry about those problems. You can use your energy to make changes that make your life better. As you make positive changes, you gain strength and allow more happiness into your life.
Experts in Accepting and Overcoming Challenges
My daughter and son, Heather and Logan Madsen, and I are experts in accepting and overcoming challenges. Heather and Logan both have a rare condition called Miller syndrome which causes hearing loss and physical disabilities, as well as, a separate lung disease, and autism.
I raised Heather and Logan as a self-employed single mother. Overcoming challenges I faced as a single mom, as well as overcoming divorce, poverty, and bulimia, I gained strength. As a stronger person from overcoming previous hardships, the current challenge I’m facing and overcoming, which is having MS, is made easier.
Speaking Publically and Sharing Tools that Help Others Overcome Challenges
The three of us speak publically, sharing stories of accepting and overcoming our challenges. People gain strength to overcome their hardships when they listen to our stories of overcoming our difficulties. We also share tools we use to help us overcome our challenges.
Sharing our journeys and the lessons we’ve learned with others help make a positive difference in their lives. Every time we speak we remember how much we enjoy sharing our stories and inspiring people. This helps make the challenges we face every day a little bit easier as well. ~Debbie Jorde
